How it works

98% Blue light blocked (lab tested)
  1. Wear them before bed

Put them on for the last few hours before bed, especially if you use screens.

  2. Your body makes melatonin

With the blue light blocked, your brain knows it is night.

  3. Wind down

Less blue light in the hours before bed.

CIRCADIAN BIOLOGY

Why amber, at night

Blue light tells your brain it is daytime. At night, it holds back melatonin, the hormone that makes you sleepy. Amber lenses block that light, so melatonin can rise on schedule.

The detailed science

Cells in your eye called ipRGCs respond most to blue light at 460–480nm. When they fire after dusk, they signal your brain to hold back melatonin.

Clear computer lenses let most of that band through. Seluna's amber lenses let less than 2% through in the lens maker's lab test.

Questions

Good to know

Anything else? Email support@seluna.works.

When should I wear them?

For up to the last 2–3 hours before bed.

Can I read and watch TV with them on?

Yes. Everything looks warmer, and sunsets look extra pretty.

Can I wear them while driving at night?

No. Take them off before you drive after dark. The amber lenses let through about 47% of light, and safety standards need at least 75% for driving at dusk or night.

Why not regular blue light glasses?

Clear computer lenses let most of the blue light that affects sleep through. Seluna blocks about 98% of it (lab report).
